Ausgoat Newsletter June 2014

It was a cold, rainy and windy morning, - and the beginning of the Celtic Festival here in Glen Innes. Thousands of visitors came to enjoy the festival and they were welcomed by a genuine Celtic Cold. It was freezing !

We joined in with a Celtic window display and our own ‘Celtic Piper’ who piped in the local Rugby team in the freezing conditions.

At another Ausgoat location conditions were slightly warmer. The English TV Channel BBC paid a visit to our Ausgoat Cobar Depot and produced a story on the Australian goat meat industry.

Ausgoat depot manager Tim Walmsley was interviewed and you can watch the story here (via YouTube).

Market News:

This time it is good news.

We predicted the market would break the $3.00/kg barrier and it has mostly done that. The very strong lamb and mutton markets, together with the winter short fall of goats has seen the goat market reach its highest levels in several years.

All of our depots are looking for numbers and proudly paying the best money on offer.

Meet the team:

‘Almost oldest’ team member Marianne, who has been with Ausgoat since the beginning is our featured staff member this month.

In 2006 when Philip Lynn started Ausgoat, Marianne was employed as the only employee being the office ‘all-rounder’, and as the business grew she took on the role as Office Manager. In 2010 she established ‘Colours on Grey’ to pursue a creative career, whilst keeping her connection to Ausgoat. Today Marianne works for Ausgoat through her own business, focusing on PR & Marketing and website management.
